pedicure

Feet require lot of care and attention as it is the most essential part of the body. Feet supports the entire body weight and is exposed to dirt, chemicals and tiredness. Therefore, it needs relaxation and good care. Pedicure is one of the best options that help to clean and pamper feet and toe nails.

The history of pedicure goes back a long way. It was first noticed in Ancient Egypt. In India, people have been using henna since last 5000 years. Henna has proved to be the best plant for hands and feet.

The word Pedicure is derived from the Latin word Pes meaning “foot” and cura meaning “care”. It is a cosmetic treatment of cleaning and pampering toe nails, feet and legs and improves the texture, feel and look of the nails and feet.

Pedicure not only cleans the toe nails but is also good for rubbing off dead skin of feet, preventing nail diseases, cuticle treatment and grooming toe nails. It also improves blood circulation and nourishes the skin. There are various tools and supplies that are used for an effective pedicure. The most common tools used are toe nail clippers, cuticle pusher, orangewood stick, nail dryer, foot scrapper, nail cutter, cuticle remover, nail paint, buffer, and pumice stone.

Other essentials include foot cream, moisturizer, cuticle cream, acetone, lotion, foot bath, towel, cuticle oil, base coax, nail bleach, nail conditioner, foot bath salts, thinner and nail paints.

There are various different types of pedicures. Some of the most common types are as follows:
- Regular Pedicure: This is a simple treatment that includes nail filing, nail polishing, and foot scrubbing. It can be done at home using various equipments.
- Paraffin Pedicure: This is a treatment that involves the use of paraffin wax. The feet are covered with layers of paraffin wax to moisturize feet.
- Stone and Salt Pedicure: This is basically a foot massage that involves the use of various different essential oils that are rubbed with the help of stone.
- French Pedicure: It is a simple pedicure that involves the use of white paint on the nail tips with a sheer pink color on the base.

Pedicure, in a few words, makes the feet look healthy and improves the appearance of the feet.
