oily skin care

Oily skin is a result of hormonal imbalance and increased activity of sebaceous glands. The secretion of sebum increases and the pores are enlarged, giving the skin a greasy shine and a coarse look. The excess oil on the skin attracts more dirt and dust from the surrounding and makes the skin dark and dull. Oily skin is prone to acne and pimples. So, it is very essential to remove the excess oil from the skin to obtain a flawless smooth skin.

Oily skin requires special cleansing with oil free soap or a mild cleanser and hot water. The use of hot water is beneficial as it helps in dissolving the oil from the skin at a faster rate and prevents the pores from being clogged. Wash the face only once or twice as excess of washing will lead to more oil secretion. Avoid the use of harsh soaps, creamy moisturizers, alcoholic lotions and cleansers. Instead use oil free moisturizer, sunscreen and non greasy cleansers.
